We're not launching Minecraft hosting
After a lot of thought, I've made the difficult decision to close our plans to launch Minecraft hosting.
This wasn't an easy decision. We've put a lot of time, effort, and money into getting everything ready, and I'm genuinely grateful to everyone who supported us, showed interest, joined the Discord, or was looking forward to the launch.
Unfortunately, after taking a proper look at the costs of running the infrastructure and the current Minecraft hosting market, I've come to the conclusion that continuing with the launch wouldn't be financially sustainable.
There are much larger and more established hosts that can offer more resources at lower prices, and I don't want to compromise on the quality of our hardware or the experience we'd provide just to try and compete with them.
Since we hadn't officially launched yet, no customer accounts or paid services were created, so nobody will be affected by the closure.
Although we're not going ahead with Minecraft hosting, the work we've put into North Rack Systems hasn't been wasted. I've learned a huge amount about server management, networking, hosting infrastructure, and what it actually takes to run a hosting service.
Thank you to everyone who supported us and believed in the idea. The Discord will remain open for the time being while I figure out what comes next for North Rack Systems.
More information coming soon. Thank you again for being here and supporting us.
